Veal Milanese

If you can find Veal at your local supermarket, than you had better cook it right! And this is yummy in all the right places. Add extra lemon at the end for another level of flavor.

  • 3 Large Brown Eggs
  • 2 Cups Bread Crumbs Plain if possible
  • 2 Tsp Basil
  • 1 Tsp Thyme
  • 2 lbs Veal Thinly sliced scallopine (at least 4 slices (if 2 lbs))
  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Fresh Lemons
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1.5 cups All Purpose Flour
  1. Preheat over to 175F degrees
  2. In a shallow dish beat all the eggs with salt and pepper.
  3. In a shallow dish, pour flour.
  4. In a shallow dish mix breadcrumbs, basil, and thyme.
  5. On a large try or plate place each individual piece of veal and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  6. Working with one piece of Veal at a time, dip first tin the flour, shaking off excess. Next, place the flour covered piece of Veal into the egg wash coating it completely. Then place the Veal into the breadcrumb mixture and coat. Set aside and repeat with the remaining pieces of Veal.
  7. Heat a large deep pan and add oil.
  8. Fry two pieces of Veal at a time in the oil until golden brown on both sides (about 6-8 minutes).
  9. Remove from oil and place on a backing sheet and place in the oven to keep warm, repeat with remaining Veal until done.
